About Me

Yasmin Omar is a Somali-Ethiopian second-generation immigrant raised in Ottawa, Canada. She is in her fourth year at Carleton University, pursuing a degree in Global and International Studies with a specialization in Global Law and Social Justice. She is now joining Inshuti as an NGO Management Intern. A highly motivated individual, Yasmin is a dedicated advocate for equality, community empowerment, and anti-racism.

Once an athlete, Yasmin enjoys running and going to the gym. She is currently the Vice President of the Carleton University Somali Student Association. She also loves traveling through Europe, with Sweden being her favorite destination. In her free time, she enjoys watching crime/thriller shows, K-dramas, and listening to podcasts.
