Laurence Story

Laurence and her family urgently need shelter as their dilapidated old house crumbles to the ground. Her story is one marked by adversity, as she single-handedly raised two children while her husband, Faustin, served a 15-year prison sentence. With Faustin's recent release, Laurence faces the challenge of rebuilding their lives from the ground up.

Her daughter Aline, a widow struggling to make ends meet, relies on menial tasks like laundry and compound cleaning to provide for her family. Meanwhile, Laurence's son Romain balances the dual responsibilities of seeking employment to pay for his education and attending school.

Aline's and her children’s return to Laurence's household adds considerable strain to an already burdened family dynamic. This influx of dependents places increased pressure on Laurence to provide and care for her extended family, amplifying the urgency of their need for shelter.
